Warranty & VIP Protection Program
Every HomeBuild Windows, Doors & Siding installation is backed by our 10-year labor warranty. On top of it, every residential project receives a complimentary VIP Protection Plan for 1, 2 or 5 years, depending on the size of the project. Manufacturer warranties on the products themselves are provided separately by Pella, Andersen and ProVia.
10-Year Labor Warranty
Our 10-year labor warranty covers the workmanship on all residential window, door, siding and roofing installations performed by HomeBuild. All installations are done by our own crews, and the owner, Steve Mlynek, supervises every job on site.
Not covered by the labor warranty:
- Product defects (covered by the manufacturer’s warranty)
- Hardware and accessories (see the VIP Protection Plan below)
- Misuse or lack of maintenance
- Modifications made by third parties
Manufacturer Warranties
Windows and doors from Pella, Andersen and ProVia come with their own manufacturer warranties on materials and defects. Terms vary by product line; we explain the warranty of each product we quote during your free in-home estimate.
VIP Protection Program
The VIP Protection Program is provided at no extra cost, in addition to the 10-year labor warranty. It covers the parts of a new installation that need adjustment and service in the first years. Your plan level depends on the size of your project:
- Essential Protection Plan – 1 year
- Preferred Protection Plan – 2 years
- Premier Protection Plan – 5 years
Windows, Doors and Siding
All plans cover, for the length of the plan:
- Hardware mechanisms and adjustment components
- Locks, hinges, operators and crank systems
- Sliding door rollers and track alignment
- Exterior sealant and perimeter caulking performance
- Weather sealing components
Preferred and Premier plans also cover hardware misalignment caused by normal household use.
Roofing
Essential (1 year):
- Minor roof leak repairs
- Flashing, vent and sealant touch-ups
- Ridge cap and hip cap adjustments
- Inspection and minor service adjustments
Preferred (2 years) – everything in Essential, plus:
- Flashing, vents and roof penetrations
- Sealant and caulking maintenance
- Gutter apron and edge details
- Preventive inspection and adjustments
- Priority scheduling
Premier (5 years) – everything in Essential and Preferred, plus:
- Flashing, vents and all roof penetrations
- Sealant and waterproofing maintenance
- Gutter interface inspection and adjustments
- Annual roof inspection in years 1–5
- Priority scheduling and service
How Your Coverage Works Together
The labor warranty and the VIP Protection Plan work together. The 10-year labor warranty covers how your windows, doors, siding or roof were installed. The VIP Protection Plan adds service for hardware, sealing and adjustments during the first 1, 2 or 5 years, which the labor warranty does not cover. Defects in the products themselves are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty, and we help you with that process.
